I recently finished reading the book "The Last Song" and it was FANTASTIC! I highly recommend reading this book. It is a love story but as well there are many events that make the book not all about love. I have also watched the movie before I finished reading the book and realized that they are different in some ways. For example in the book the character of Ronnie's dad, is shown more and he is more involved in the events that happen throughout the book. It has also given the dad more background and tells about his character and past life. They have even devoted a few chapters throughout the book from the fathers thoughts. Where in the movie his character isn't as important and just more so helps the characters progress and the plot progress. Although in both the book and the movie both have the event of the fathers illness, in the book it is displayed more often and seems like a bigger event then it is in the movie (which it is) and the movie is more so focused on the love part of the story.
This book is incredible and I recommend it to everyone because as the book progressed, I got a feel for the characters more and more and in the last few chapters I ended up balling my head off, which is very surprising for someone like me because I do not like crying at all and I have gotten pretty good at holding it back and I especially don't like crying in front of other people. For example I watched Dear John with my friends and they were all balling and I was the only one not crying. Anyways this is just to point out exactly how good this book really is and that it is a great novel to spend your time reading. the book

I was one of the idiot friends crying throughout the whole movie, for both Dear John and The Last Song. I agree with you, the book and movie arn't exactly the same. The book was amazing though! I cried at the ending too, it was really sad. I would definitely recommend this book as well.

ReplyDeleteThe book was so much better than the movie, Miley Cyrus actually has one expression on her face and it looks like she is in pain, but the book is amazing! I loved it, I finished the whole book in one sitting because I absolutely couldn't put it down. I don't know if you've read any other Nicholas Sparks books but many others of his are great as well, although the majority have the sad ending.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the you! The Last Song was awesome. I resisted reading it at first, but I'm glad I did in the end. It's a lot more complex than you would think. I also agree that the movie isn't nearly as good as the book. I might be a litttle biased though, because Miley Cirus buggs me so much. :-)
ReplyDeleteawesome :) I feel like i would rather read the book than watch the movie because first of all, miley cyrus is in it, and second of all you described the book as being more of a deep story than the movie. :) im going to have to read it later though, got so many books going for classes :)
ReplyDeleteI honestly think that most books are soo much bettr than the movies, however in this case, I think that they did an exceptional job fitting the novel into and hour and a half movie. The acting was amazing, the story was told and the tears still got flowing. Both the book and the movie were amazing, and I think it is because the story line could reach out to so many different people. I also have to admit that this movie brought me lot of respect for Miley. She did a fantastic job in her early works of acting, and you could definantly see the love within her and Liams relationship. This is one of my favourite movies and I would go and see another Miley movie in a heartbeat.
